Setting up FTP

1. Start Dreamweaver.
2. Choose "Manage Sites" from the "Site" menu.
3. Click to select the name of your existing site and click the "Edit" button, or click the "New" button and "FTP & RDS Server" to start a new site.
4. Enter a name for your site, if it's new, in the "Name" field.
5. Choose "FTP" from the "Access" drop-down menu.
6. Enter your server address, usually the domain name you registered with Go Daddy, in the "FTP Host" field.
7. Leave the "Hosting directory" box empty unless Go Daddy has told you that your site is not at the root level of your domain name, which is not common. If your site is in a sub-directory, type that directory path in this box.
8. Enter your hosting username in the "Login" field.
9. Enter your hosting password (it will not be visible) in the "Password" field and check the box next to "Save" so you won't need to enter it each time you transfer files.
10. Check off the box next to "Passive FTP."
11. Click the "Test" button next to your Login name to verify the connection works.
12. Click the "OK" button to save these settings and close the dialog box.

Transferring Files in Dreamweaver

1. Select "Files" from the "Window" menu to view the Dreamweaver Files panel if it isn't already open on your screen.
2. Click once to highlight the files you want to upload to your website hosted by Go Daddy.
3. Click the "Put" button at the top of the Files panel. The button looks like a green arrow pointing upward.
4. Open a Web browser and visit your domain to view the uploaded files.
